Live Roulette | What is it and How to Play and Win

Roulette is a simple live casino game that both high rollers and beginners love to play due to how easy it is to play. High rollers can focus on hot numbers and stake a lot of money on a single pocket while casual players stick to betting on black or red to get a 50/50 chance to win. In fact, some bettors even managed to make a 100K profit after staking 100K in Red and winning.

Live Roulette

Most Philippine casinos like BK8 Casino features European Roulette tables with some French Roulette rules. American tables are pretty rare, but they are present among Evolution Gaming’s game portfolio. Playing these games is essentially the same as the rules are the same while there are some differences in the odds and payouts.

How to Play Live Roulette

The basic rules of roulette are the same with the only differences mainly being in the odds. The additional green zero in American Roulette means that American Roulette and European Roulette will have different basket bets.

Outside Bets

Outside bets are bets on a large selection of pockets without covering specific numbers. These bets are found outside of the table and doesn’t cover green zeroes. These bets have low payouts, except for Double Ball’s that have relatively high odds and payouts due to the different winning conditions.

The Red or Black bet is an outside bet favored by many rookie players. The odds of winning here are higher in European Roulette because there is only one green zero while the odds of winning are lower in American Roulette because of the two green zeroes.

The payout is 1:1.

The Odd or Even bet is an outside bet similar to Red or Black. Even if 0 is technically an even number, it is not counted in this outside bet. American Roulette wheels alternate between two odd and two even numbers while European Roulette has a few odd and even numbers that aren’t next each other.

The payout is 1:1.

Also known as High & Low, this bet is all about betting on whether the ball will fall into a low or high number pocket in the wheel.

The payout is 1:1.

The Dozens bet is a 2:1 payout bet which is all about betting on whether the ball will land on the first, second, or third dozen.

The Columns bet is a 2:1 payout bet which is all about betting on which column the pocket with the ball belongs to.

Different BK8 Roulette Games

Different BK8 Roulette games

BK8 Casino is powered by multiple gaming providers but only Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play offer unique tables with certain exciting features. We’ll focus on Evolution Gaming live roulette tables here:

Speed Roulette

Speed Roulette is a variation of European Roulette that features shorter game rounds than the standard game. Here, a single round only lasts for 25 seconds. The shorter round makes it hard to place bets covering multiple bets and pockets.

A similar variation is Speed Auto Roulette where the dealer is completely absent and instead uses Auto Roulette’s RNG.

Instant Roulette

Instant Roulette is an automated multi-wheel game where 12 roulette wheels are set up to spin three wheels at a time. Once a wheel has finished spinning, another wheel will start spinning. The outcomes come nearly instantaneously and bettors can setup multiple bets.

Lightning Roulette

Lightning Roulette is an Evolution Gaming live roulette variation that introduces multipliers to Straight Up bets. One to five multipliers are assigned on different pockets with the values ranging from 50x to 500x the initial stake. The standard Straight Up bet’s payout is reduced to 29:1 mainly because of the multiplier.

Other similar variations from Pragmatic Play are the following:

  • Mega Roulette
  • PowerUP Roulette
  • Lucky 6 Roulette

Double Ball Roulette

Double Ball Roulette is a variation where two balls are used instead on one ball, drastically affecting the odds and payout of multiple Inside and Outside bets. The payouts for the Inside bets are the following:

Straight Up17:134:1
Split8:116:1

Corner/Basket3:16:1

As seen in the table above, an extra outside bet is added to introduce one even money bet. The Red and Black wins when the balls land in black and red pockets.

In addition to the different payouts of the Inside and Outside bets, this game also features Gold Bets wherein one essentially acts as a jackpot bet.

  • 2 Balls in Any Same Number – 35:1
